‘Zoom Piece’ is a reference to Trisha Brown’s 1971 performance ‘Roof Piece’. In this, dancers are situated on rooftops across SoHo, utilising signal-like gestures to explore communication across distances. Reflecting on how Zoom had connected many of us in times of social distancing, we explored a timely response to this idea – what movements or cues do we look for to synchronize with fellow participants across the network?

‘Zoom Piece’, is the culmination of the 5-month research period and brings together a collage of ideas explored during this time.
